About Us
The Students' National Education Council (SNEC) is a group of passionate students who seek to raise awareness on contemporary issues — be it local or global — and inculcate students with a sense of belonging to Singapore. These events aim to foster a sense of national identity, and strengthen ties within the student body and with the wider community.
More than just any CCA, SNEC is a tight-knit community of like-minded individuals who are passionate about what they do, and who work alongside one another to plan and execute meaningful NE experiences. Join the SNEC family if you have a heart for Singapore and want to step out of your comfort zone to grow as a leader.
What does SNEC do?
As part of the NE programme, four core events are commemorated annually, namely Total Defence Day (TDD), International Friendship Day (IFD), Racial Harmony Day (RHD) and National Day (ND).
Dialogues with senior civil servants and ministers are held on a regular basis to sensitise students to the rationale behind policies and to raise awareness of the realities facing Singapore. In addition, SNEC organises small group dialogue sessions and produces fortnightly infographics on current issues.
Since 2021, students have gone on class-based learning journeys aligned to the themes of diversity, sustainability and total defence.
