Total Defence Day 2025
The theme for 2025's Total Defence Day – "Together We Keep Singapore Strong" focused on Singapore's readiness for crises and disruptions, and the many ways we can put Total Defence into action in our everyday lives. This year's celebrations also commemorated the 40th anniversary of Total Defence Day in Singapore, marking significant progress that Singapore has made in the last few decades.
Flag raising ceremony and parade
We began the morning with a combined flag raising ceremony. This consisted of the reading of the Total Defence Day message and an Urban Operations display. These activities were definitely exciting and invigorating, succesfully creating a lively atmosphere for the events that followed.
Water Rationing
Exercise
To simulate a water disruption, taps were turned off for an hour in Block A level 1 toilets, as well as in the canteen. Instead, water buckets and water ladles were provided so that everyone could wash their hands.
Through this exercise, we hope that Hwa Chongians can fully appreciate the natural resources available to us in our daily lives, and experience first-hand what it may be like to live with limited resources in times of crisis.
