C2 Ministerial Dialogue 2025

On 30 July 2025, Ms Indranee Rajah, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office and Second Minister for Finance and National Development engaged the year 2 students in a wide-ranging and candid discussion, offering valuable insights into both global developments and pressing domestic concerns.

In her opening remarks, Minister Indranee highlighted the several global and domestic challenges that will shape Singapore’s future, including geopolitical tensions, economic uncertainty and the demographic pressure of a rapidly ageing population. Drawing on Singapore’s past experiences with major crises such as the SARS outbreak, the Global Financial Crisis and the more recent COVID-19 pandemic, she emphasised the nation’s consistent ability to adapt and respond effectively. With that, she introduced the idea of the "Singapore DNA", reiterating Singapore's strength in turning adversity into opportunity. She urged students to stay informed, build networks and embrace every opportunity in this increasingly volatile world.

During the Q&A segment, our students raised thoughtful questions, covering topics from the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war to housing prices. Minister Indranee also underscored the vital link between economic strength and cultural development, noting that a a thriving economy is crucial to support greater investment in the arts.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Minister Indranee for her time and insights on these vital national and global issues.
